 Mr. Brett McIntyre

“I began dancing from the age of 2.5 participating in Miss Hatton’s first Ballroom class designed specifically for children. There I developed the skills and technique that would carry on through to adult career and expand my knowledge of dance even further.

Along with Ballroom, I have danced many dance styles including Latin American, Country & Western, Freestyle, Sequence and Team Dancing. These were all great experiences which have since influenced my choice in studying for my Ballroom teacher’s qualification with the tuition knowledge of Miss Hatton. I want to continue my teacher training in many more subjects over years to come.

I urge you all too at least try a form of dancing, it is a skill learned with detailed precision and technique that will make you proud to say that you have achieved. Along with the social aspect that could lead to life long enjoyment and friendship formation. “

Mrs. Florence Bin Ali

Mrs Bin Ali was a late starter to the dancing world and holds two professional qualifications within the dance school, specialising mainly within the ballroom field and the Country & Western Line Dancing Classes. Mrs Bin Ali began her dancing career as sequence dancer and has since enjoyed the freedom of the other dance styles and says that each has their own unique style which she is proud to dance.

Mrs Bin Ali works closely with Miss Hatton in the administartion side of the dance school as is the person to talk to if ever their is any upcoming special events such as the yearly trip away and the annual President's Ball held every year by the President of the NCDTA.

Mr. Gareth Brack

I started dancing august 1993. I was 7 years old. My favourite type of dancing is ballroom.

I started to dance when I was 7years old back 1993. From the age of 5 I had to take and pick up my sisters with my mum from there dance classes. This one time we stayed in the waiting room for the lesson but I watched everyone dance and thought I could do it, and so as soon as the lesson had finished I walked through the doors and told everyone that I’d start to dance. So the very next week I put on a pair of shoes and started. At first I was with the beginners and only did the medal tests. One year later one of the teachers thought I had the potential to become a top competitor. I met the person I was going to dance with for 6 ½ years. I was then trained as a solo dancer to gain some experience at competition level. As soon as the teachers thought I was ready they teamed me up with Kayleigh McMahon. Our first competition was the 25th of June 1995 at the Pembroke hall in Manchester. Dancing has had a huge influence on my life and I’ve loved it.

Honours:

1995- Won first competition at Pontins Blackpool in November.

1996- I was a British finalist at the Old Time British championships at the Blackpool winter gardens.

1997- I won the juvenile modern sequence championship at Blackpool Tower.

I made three different British finals coming 1st in Old Time, 4th in the Ballroom and 6th in the Latin. This is probably one of my greatest achievements as it is hard enough to make one final.

2000 and 2001- I came 4th in the junior modern sequence championships at Blackpool Tower.

2006- I started my training with Hatton School of Dancing to become a dance teacher.

Miss Rachel Thompson

I joined the Hatton School of Dancing in 1989 at the age of 8, having previously danced since the age of 3. I wanted to try other subjects. Since joining the school I have completed the medal test system from bronze through the the supreme awards in Ballroom and Latin American. As more subjects were added I took part and gradually started to teach within the school classes run by miss Wendy Hatton.

At the age of 17 I qualified in the Country and Western Branch as an Associate teacher having recently completed my full Membership. I then went on to complete my associate teacher qualifications in Ballroom and Country and Western. I am currently studying for my Membership certificate in Latin American hoping to continue my study into other branches.

I teach a range of subjects within the school including Ballroom, Latin American and Salsa as well as teaching private lessons and encouraging other professionals to join the N.C.D.T.A.
