Key Stages 1, 2 & GCSE Dance.
"Everyone Is Born to Dance"
Dance is part of the school curriculum today and it is important that all children - both boys and girls are exposed to this unique art form.
Not only is dance fun and artistic, but it is also a great way of getting children to exercise without them even knowing it, using muscles and joints that they would not normally use.
Dance IS a SPORT after all!!

The BORN TO DANCE scheme is a joint venture made possible by the Government in conjunction with the British Dance Council and is implemented within key stage one and two schools throughout South Tyneside by Stuart Hatton.
"Not only does the Born To Dance Key Stage 1 and 2 scheme give children a much needed form of exercise, but it's also a fun way of getting kids to do excerise without them even knowing that they are doing it. The scheme also works well to breakdown the boy / girl divide that is seen at such a young age these days because the majority of the scheme compromises 'partner dancing'. The scheme also breaks down many racial divides and religious beliefs are left behind as the children enjoy the dance that they are doing with their partner, regardless of gender or race. I have also found in my experience as well, that with me being a man, the boys in the class do not find dancing to be a 'sissy' thing to do or that dancing is just for 'girls'. Infact by the end of my lessons they are usually fighting for my attention and are enjoying themselves a lot more than the girls." (Stuart Hatton)
The Born To Dance Scheme Compromises such dances as:
Rhythm Foxtrot
Rock 'n' Roll
Merengue / Salsa
Paso Doble
Disco Freestyle
and many more, these are just a taster.
G.C.S.E. dance is also available through Stuart Hatton who can teach outside modules for the scheme as well as body and line development and choreograph skills. GCSE dance is a subject that should be treat as an artform and Mr. Hatton will be able to refine the dancer's work.
If you are a head-teacher or teach in schools and considering any of the schemes for your school community then all you have to do is contact Stuart Hatton to see whether the Born To Dance Scheme or the GCSE schemes are right for your school.
